| The Henry-Senachwine Grade School would like to welcome Mr. Francis Lucente, our grade and high school band director, to the staff. He has been busy with Marching Band (which plays at the Friday night football games), lessons, as well as working with new fifth grade band members. | |

Yearly Events SOLO AND ENSEMBLE CONTEST WORK SESSIONS |
|
 |
Solo and ensemble contest work will begin late in January. Students may work any morning before school at, after school, or choose a time to work on a Saturday. Additional Saturday sessions will be held during February and March. |

MUSIC DEPARTMENT SKI TRIP |
|
|
During February, students from the 6th Grade Band, Jr. High Band & Chorus will travel to Chestnut Mountain Resort for the Music Department Ski Trip. The group will reserve equipment and swim Sunday evening then ski all day on Monday (President's Day). The bus will return to HSGS at 8:30 p.m. Monday evening. |

SOLO AND ENSEMBLE MUSIC CONTEST During March, H.S. Music Boosters will host the Central Illinois Regional Music Contest. Students from Fieldcrest East Middle School, Fieldcrest West Middle School, Lacon Grade School, Lowpoint-Washburn Jr. High, Midland Jr. High, Putnam County Jr. High, R.O.W.V.A. Jr. High, Stark County Jr. High, and Varna Grade School, as well as from Henry-Senachwine Jr. High will be involved in vocal and instrumental events. Performances will begin at 4:30 p.m. Parents, family and friends are invited to attend. Dinner items will be available in the cafeteria. |

| During May, the 5th Grade Band, 6th Grade Band, and the Jr. High Band will present their Spring Concert at the school. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the concert. | |
