HOW DO YOU SIGN UP?
  • Parents need to complete and return the Registration Form to Bev Privratsky in the Grade School Office.
WHO WOULD BE IN CHARGE?
  • The PROJECT SUCCESS Board has hired two (2) supervising tutors.  These people will oversee the tutoring and will be responsible for arranging additional volunteers to help 'tutor'.
HOW WILL PARENTS KNOW WHERE THEIR CHILDREN ARE?
  • On the Registration Form, parents will sign their student up for 'full time' OR 'part time'.  Parents need to 'work something out with their child' so they know whether or not their child is staying for the tutoring session OR coming home.
CAN STUDENTS SERVE DETENTIONS IN THIS PROGRAM?
  • ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!  To attend our tutoring program is a privilege.  If a student receives a detention, he/she did not earn the privilege to attend.  This program is also not a latch key program.  Students who attend will have to do work.  If students misbehave, we will contact parents and they will no longer be able to attend.
WHY DID WE DEVELOP SUCH A PROGRAM?
  • A survey completed by parents indicated a need for such a program.  There are many students whose parents either do not have the time, the skills, OR the desire to help them with their homework.  We hope that by offering such a program, students would have the opportunity to obtain help with their homework.  Students who attended the program last year overall did better in school.  Parents of the participating students have applauded the program.
